The Human Covenant Manifesto

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
— The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2025), Mt 16:19.

A Call to Wisdom in the Age of Machines

The Heart of the Matter

We are living through rapid change driven by artificial intelligence. While its efficiency is appealing, we must also consider its impact on our well-being. As Christians, we believe in the Genesis account of creation and reject ideas that view people merely as data or random accidents. We are God’s masterpiece.

Genesis 1:27 says God made us in His image. This idea, called 'Imago Dei,' guides us and reminds us that technology ought to serve the life God gave us (Genesis 2:7).

I. What We Believe About the Person

1. People Come First.

A person’s value is not based on productivity or 'output.' We are not algorithms.

  • The Truth: Psalm 139:14 says we are "fearfully and wonderfully made." God "knitted" each person together, so we value people for their intrinsic worth, not just productivity.

2. We Cannot Outsource Our Judgment.

Wisdom is a gift from God, and we cannot give that responsibility to a machine.

  • The Truth: Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that although a person plans, the Lord establishes steps. Responsibility belongs to souls, not machines; we will give an account to God (Romans 14:12).

3. Respecting Our Design.

There remains beauty in the limits God gave us. We must understand the difference between the Creator, the Image-Bearer, and the tools we use.

  • The Truth: Psalm 8 asks, "What is man that you are mindful of him?" We were given dominion and commanded to rule over the earth within our God-given creaturely limits.

II. Pursuing Justice in a Changing Economy

1. The Dignity of Work.

Technology should support workers, not take away the dignity of their work.

  • The Truth: Work was established in Eden. 1 Timothy 5:18 says the laborer is worthy of his wages. We believe automation should never be a tool to squeeze or "oppress the hired worker" (Malachi 3:5).

2. Loving the Neighbor in Front of Us.

Our first responsibility is not to global 'progress,' but to care for the person beside us.

  • The Truth: If we don’t look after our own families and communities, we’ve missed the point of the faith (1 Timothy 5:8). We choose groundedness in our home instead of the perpetual novelty of this world.

3. Walking in the Light.

Technology should not be a 'black box.' It needs to be open and transparent.

  • The Truth: Luke 8:17 tells us that nothing is hidden that won't eventually be brought to light. Justice succeeds in transparency, not in secret code.

III. Protecting Our Families and Society

1. Our Bodies are Sacred.

We believe the human mind and body are where the Holy Spirit lives.

  • The Truth: 1 Corinthians 6:19 refers to our bodies as "temples." Our thoughts and our neurological privacy are a "garden enclosed" (Song of Solomon 4:12) that no tool should intrude upon.

2. Safety as a Moral Duty.

We believe in having 'reliable neighbors,' even if those neighbors are robots.

  • The Truth: In Deuteronomy 22:8, God commanded His people to build a "parapet" (a safety railing) on their roofs to protect others. We believe our technology needs those same kinds of "fences" to keep people safe.

IV. Our Devotion to the Future

As we look forward to the 'blessed hope' of Christ’s return (Titus 2:13), we make these promises:

  • We will put our time and resources into people, in the knowledge of their infinite value.

  • We will remain loyal to the Creator God, Jesus Christ, by extolling his kingdom only above all things.

  • We will use AI as a tool that enhances serving one another in Spirit and in Truth.

An Invitation

Join us in shaping a time when new inventions support the common good and honor the King of Kings. Stand with us to make sure technology genuinely serves people.

Come along with us for the common grace and honor of the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, as we ensure technology serves people.

Our Commitment: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). Now is the time to act with purpose and conviction.
